LINK REVIEW · SOURCE-LABELLED EVIDENCE

Backlink Anchor Profile Audit

Understand the wording used to link to a domain or page. Inspect anchor concentration without invented safe ratios or penalty scores.

Bounded index sample · Transparent counts · Human review

01

See the source

Provider, query scope and retrieval time stay visible. Unknown coverage stays unknown.

02

Inspect the distribution

Review per-anchor link counts and shares of the returned rows—not an assumed whole-web total.

03

Keep context intact

Separate your literal brand labels from provider evidence. Referring domains are never added across anchors.

CONNECTION STATUS

Automatic checks: source setup required

The tool is installed, but a permitted backlink index is not connected. The administrator can configure DataForSEO or Majestic under Link Review → Anchor Profile.

Provider usage and public-display rights must be confirmed before enabling lookups. No paid requests are enabled. A published page is not evidence of a successful backlink audit.

A distribution, not a penalty verdict

A high share may come from repeated legitimate links, incomplete data or provider grouping. It is not enough to diagnose risk. Inspect actual placements before considering any action.

DataForSEO and Majestic use different indexes and counting rules. The tool keeps their results separate, does not fetch referring pages, and never generates a disavow file.

Questions and limits

What does this audit measure?

It retrieves one bounded page of anchor aggregates from the configured backlink index, then shows link counts and shares within those returned rows. The source, query method and limitations travel with the report.

Is there a safe anchor-text percentage?

No universal safe ratio is provided. Anchor concentration alone cannot establish manipulation, a penalty or ranking credit. Review actual placements and business context before deciding what to change.

Why is source setup required?

A domain-only lookup requires a reverse backlink index. Open-source code does not supply that index. DataForSEO and Majestic adapters are installed, but credentials, usage permission and public-display rights must be configured by the administrator before any call.

Can free crawl data replace an API?

A separate index could be built from permitted crawl data, with storage, processing and ongoing operations. Common Crawl host/domain graphs are not an instant anchor-text service. The existing free Wikipedia sample is not a whole-web anchor profile.

How are anchors grouped?

Optional brand and keyword labels match only after whitespace folding and lowercasing. Brand wins if a label is in both fields. Remaining anchors use explicit URL-like syntax, six English generic phrases, empty or other. These are transparent text rules, not semantic classifications.

Are Majestic and DataForSEO results directly comparable?

No. The DataForSEO query requests provider-live direct links. Majestic Fresh totals include deleted links and lowercase anchor text. Their coverage, grouping and first-page order differ. This tool does not blend the two sources.

What is sent or saved?

Only the target domain or public page URL is sent to the chosen provider; your optional labels stay on this server and in your report. No reports or scheduled histories are stored by this module. Protection retains usage counters. CSV/JSON downloads need separate administrator permission and are generated in the browser.
