Choose the input format before converting. Review the preview and copied output before submission because each publisher may allow a smaller HTML subset than WordPress.

HTML/Markdown Editor

Convert a safe Markdown subset to sanitized HTML or clean submitted HTML for WordPress.

Ready

Prepare a clean handoff

Formatting should make the article easier to publish and easier to read

A publisher-ready draft needs a clear hierarchy, readable paragraphs, intentional lists, and links that explain their destination. This editor provides a safe working subset instead of carrying page-builder markup, tracking scripts, copied font styles, or document-editor clutter into the submission.

The article title normally belongs in the WordPress title field, so the editor offers H2 through H6 rather than adding another H1. WordPress’s Heading block documentation also recommends using headings to organize sections and maintaining a logical hierarchy.

  • Headings. Start body sections with H2 and use lower levels only for real subsections.
  • Links. Use descriptive anchor text and confirm the final destination and protocol.
  • Lists. Reserve bullets for comparable items and numbers for a true sequence.
  • Quotes and code. Mark them intentionally so a publisher can distinguish them from normal prose.
  • Preview. Read the rendered article once before copying the output.

A practical workflow

Move from draft to submission without carrying hidden clutter

Keep the content structure simple enough that a publisher can place it in WordPress, another CMS, or a review document without rebuilding the article.

Choose Markdown or HTML

Use the format supplied by the writer or requested by the publisher. Avoid converting back and forth repeatedly after the final edit.

Structure and preview

Apply H2-H6 headings, lists, emphasis, quotes, code, and links. Check the preview for missing hierarchy, long unbroken sections, and malformed links.

Copy the agreed format

Copy clean HTML or Markdown, or download the result. Send it with the title, target URL, anchor instructions, images, and publisher notes.

Worked example

A document heading should not become a second page title

A writer may paste an article with an H1 at the top because the source document treats the title as its first heading. If that H1 is inserted under the WordPress page title, the published page can end up with two competing top-level headings.

Keep the article title in the submission brief or title field, then begin the body with an introductory paragraph and H2 sections. Use H3 for subsections that genuinely belong under an H2.

Clean delivery package

  • Article title supplied separately.
  • Body begins with prose or an H2 section.
  • Every link includes final anchor text and destination.
  • Images include source, caption, and alt-text notes.
  • HTML or Markdown matches the publisher’s requested format.

Limits and judgment

Sanitization protects the output but cannot approve the article

The editor removes scripts, event handlers, unsafe protocols, and unsupported elements. That reduces technical risk, but it does not check facts, copyright permissions, publisher policy, accessibility beyond the supplied structure, or whether a link is appropriate.

Some publishers strip additional tags or rebuild formatting in their own editor. Keep a plain-text source and verify the final published page. Copy or transfer article content only when you are ready; the page does not save it as a WordPress draft.

  • Supported subset. Headings H2-H6, paragraphs, emphasis, links, lists, quotes, and code cover the normal guest-post structure.
  • Removed content. Scripts, inline event handlers, unsafe URL schemes, and unsupported markup are discarded.
  • Publisher rules. The receiving site may allow fewer tags or apply its own styles.
  • Privacy. The editor processes the submitted text for the current result and does not create a saved article.

Common questions

Formatting questions before a publisher handoff

Why does the editor not offer an H1 button?

The article or page title is normally the H1 in WordPress. Body sections should begin at H2 so the final page keeps one clear top-level heading.

Which HTML elements are supported?

The editor focuses on normal article structure: paragraphs, H2-H6 headings, emphasis, links, lists, blockquotes, and code. Unsupported or unsafe markup is removed.

Will my links remain clickable?

Safe HTTP and HTTPS links are retained. Always confirm the copied destination, anchor text, and publisher policy before submission.

Can I paste content from Microsoft Word or Google Docs?

You can paste the text, but document-specific styling may not translate cleanly. Review the sanitized output and rebuild essential headings, lists, and links in the toolbar.

Does the editor save my draft?

No. Use Copy, Download, or your own document system to retain the final version. Reset clears the current working content after confirmation.
