CONTENT PLANNING · OWNER-AUTHORIZED EVIDENCE
Content Pruning Opportunity Finder
Build a careful review queue from two comparable Search Console periods. Investigate what to keep or improve before considering consolidation, redirects or removal.
A review worksheet—not a delete buttonCompare real search evidence
Connect your own Google account. Compare finalized page rows across adjacent equal-length periods.
Keep uncertainty visible
Missing pages and metrics stay unknown. Existing clicks remain a preservation warning.
Review decisions privately
Use a browser-only owner worksheet and exports. No automatic edits, redirects or noindex changes.
Automatic comparisons: source setup required
The tool is installed. The administrator must configure the existing free Google Search Console OAuth connector before automatic comparisons can run. No paid provider is required by this implementation.
What this release can—and cannot—tell you
The queue separates observed click declines, returned zero-click evidence, missing rows or metrics, and pages without a selected review flag. These are editorial investigation filters, not a content-quality score or proof of removal benefit.
Conversions, revenue, complete backlinks, business obligations, content quality and technical page checks are not joined. Confirm these separately before changing anything. Google Search traffic alone cannot establish that a page has no value.
A safer decision order
- Check missing evidence, demand changes, seasonality and technical causes.
- Protect pages with useful traffic, important links, business purpose or user obligations.
- Consider updating; assess unique information before any consolidation.
- Review genuinely equivalent destinations before redirects. Removal is a last resort after human review.
Questions and boundaries
Can I check any competitor domain?
No. This uses private Search Console data from your own authorized Google connection. Public scraping cannot supply another site's actual search performance.
Does an absent page mean zero traffic?
No. Google returns bounded top-row evidence and can omit rows below the requested cap. Missing is unknown, never zero or proof of deindexing.
Does this delete or change content?
No. Owner worksheet choices are notes for investigation. No delete, redirect, publishing or noindex operation exists.
How is this different from Content Refresh Checker?
Content Refresh compares supplied exports. This connects to authorized Search Console automatically and adds a preservation-first pruning review queue and owner decision worksheet. Neither proves a page should be removed.
What is stored?
The existing connector retains an encrypted short-lived token bound to your website login session and usage counters. This module stores no reports or notes. Private workspace data clears on navigation, input changes or expiry; review downloads before sharing.
