Evidence notes & limitations
This public form does not discover backlinks across the web, render JavaScript, or verify Google indexing or ranking value. “Not observed” describes this HTML fetch; it does not prove a link was lost. Public checks create no visitor account or saved monitor history. Scheduled targets and their history are available only in the private administrator dashboard.
Before you check
Does this discover every backlink to a website?
No. Enter the public source page where you expect a link and the exact target URL. The tool checks that pair, not a web-wide backlink database.
Does “not observed” mean a backlink is lost?
No. A public check is one observation of fetched HTML. The private owner monitor only records repeated HTML absence after a previously observed link and two consecutive complete absent checks. Errors, blocks and incomplete pages remain unknown.
What can it inspect?
Matching links, anchor text, image alt text, rel attributes, source placement, declared canonicals and observed page directives. It does not render JavaScript, fetch the target destination, or prove Google indexing or ranking value.
Can visitors schedule recurring checks?
No. Visitors can run one-time checks without an account. Saved targets, history, retention and scheduled checks are private administrator controls in the Link Review dashboard. Scheduled checks start at six-hour intervals and depend on WordPress scheduling and site traffic. This release does not send email alerts.
Are public reports stored?
This module does not save public reports or create visitor monitors. Normal server and security logs and shared hashed-IP usage counters may still exist. Private owner observations have bounded retention.
